Championship will be plagued by a shortage of hotels, despite an upturn in construction of new hotels, the daily Rzeczpospolita reported. This year, Marriott Renaissance plans to start construction of a new hotel in Warsaw, Warimpex plans on building two hotels in Poznań and Wrocław, and the hotel chain Boutique plans to build a new hotel in the center of Kraków. Orbis is investing in Novotel in Łódź and it is highly probable that a new Sheraton Hotel will be built in the Mazury lakes region. Andrzej Szafrański, an analyst from the Hotel Institute says the total investment into these projects will reach around Zł 800 million (€194.9 million/Kč 5.1 billion) and an additional Zł 200 million–300 million may be provided by EU finds. Despite these projects, Rzeczpospolita says there will be a definite shortage of accommodation during the Euro 2012 tournament.
